Combined Pilots-Observation Badge in Gold with Diamonds

The exclusive variant of the Combined Pilots-Observation Badge in Gold with Diamonds was never officially instituted. It was bestowed to honor exceptional success and in rare occasions as an honorary award.

They deserved a Badge in gold and diamonds there has never been such a true Terror in the skies!! How American pilots could face such fear? Good thing America was well rested when they jumped in the ring. Germany I believe was at war for a while I have heard it was Hitlers youth that helped out in battle on D-Day? Absolute Terror to face the German Luftwaffe to have lived threw that is really living.
